The Isle (Ki-duk Kim/ Drama/ 90 mins/ 2000)
- Mute Hee-Jin is working as a clerk in a fishing resort in the korean wilderness; selling baits, food and occasionally her body to the fishing tourists. One day she falls in love to Hyun-Shik, who is on the run for the police and rescues him with a fish hook, when he tries to commit suicide.

Un Chien Andalou (Luis Buñuel/ Short/ 16 mins/ 1929)
- In a dream-like sequence, a woman's eye is slit open--juxtaposed with a similarly shaped cloud obscuring the moon moving in the same direction as the knife through the eye - to grab the audience's attention. The French phrase "ants in the palms," (which means that someone is "itching" to kill) is shown literally.

The Shining (Stanley Kubrick/ Thriller/ 146 mins/ 1980)
- A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.
